Batch Testing
Overview
This guide explains how to use batch testing functionality for processing multiple hydrants efficiently. Batch testing allows you to update multiple hydrant records simultaneously while maintaining individual test documentation requirements.
Important Limitation: Batch testing only updates your user account as the tester. You cannot assign batch tests to specific crew members.
Before You Start
Before using batch testing, ensure:
You have proper permissions for batch operations
All hydrants in the batch require the same test type
You understand the limitation regarding crew assignment
Individual test documentation is available for detailed records
Access Batch Testing
Navigate to Hydrant Test List.
Configure filters to show target hydrants.
Select Batch Test option from dropdown menu.
Select Hydrants for Batch Processing
Using the checkboxes on the right, select hydrants for batch testing.
Complete static PSI for each hydrant individually.
Mark the test icons according to the checks you completed for the selected hydrants.
When finished, click Apply Changes.
Result: Selected hydrants are grouped for batch processing with consistent test parameters.
Batch Testing Limitations
User Assignment: All batch tests are assigned to your user account only. Cannot specify individual crew members for batch operations.
Standardized Results: Batch processing applies same results to all hydrants. Individual variations require separate documentation.
Limited Customization: Complex testing scenarios require individual test documentation rather than batch processing.
Best Practices
Appropriate Use Cases:
Territory-wide maintenance during dedicated testing periods
Standardized operations with consistent results
Administrative updates affecting multiple hydrants
Routine testing in areas with similar hydrant specifications
When to Avoid Batch Testing:
Individual crew assignments needed.
Varied test results expected.
Complex problem documentation required.
Detailed individual records necessary.
