NERIS Insights at a Glance
Overview
NERIS Insights is an analytics platform connected to your NERIS submissions. Access it from the BI module in EPR FireWorks using the NERIS button. Data refreshes hourly.
Note: All dashboards, metrics, and forecasts are derived exclusively from the data your department transmits to NERIS. Fields or modules not sent to NERIS will not appear in analytics.
Reporting & Dashboards
Monitor department performance with pre-built and custom analytics views.
Analytics Overview: KPI tiles for total incidents, mutual aid, average response time, average turnout time, average travel time, and NFPA 1710 compliance — all benchmarked against NFPA targets.
Pre-built Charts: Incident trend by month, incidents by type, response time trends, incidents by hour and day of week, and incident count by apparatus.
Dashboards: Create and manage custom dashboards. The default Analytics Overview dashboard ships pre-configured. Add new dashboards using the + New Dashboard button.
Ask AI: Query your incident data using natural language. Get instant answers without building a report.
Custom Reports: Build tailored reports with CSV and PDF export.
Forecasting & Planning
Project future performance and model coverage changes.
Forecasts: View 3, 6, and 12-month projections for incident volume, response times, NFPA compliance trends, and projected casualties. Toggle Show last year to overlay prior-year actuals. Filter by Incident Volume, Response, Outcomes, and Resources.
Station Planner: Model the impact of new station placement on coverage and response times before committing to operational changes.
Map
Visualize where incidents are occurring across your response area.
Incidents Map: Displays up to 5,000 incidents with GPS coordinates on an interactive map powered by Esri. Use Filters to refine the incident set displayed.
Station Comparison
Identify performance gaps and trends across your stations.
Compare: Side-by-side station metrics table including total incidents, incidents per day, average and P90 response time, average and P90 turnout, average and P90 travel time, and NFPA 1710 compliance. Year-over-year change indicators display alongside each metric.
Collaboration
Benchmark your department against peer agencies.
Departments: Invite partner departments to share data access. Once connected, compare incident volume, response times, NFPA compliance, and operations side-by-side. Useful for mutual aid partners, regional benchmarking, and county-wide coordination.
